Iranian shooter Javad Foroughi who is a committed nurse taking care of patients with Covid-19 wins Iran's first gold at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Foroughi who took up shooting inadvertently while working as a nurse, turned himself into one of the world’s best shooters, capping it with a gold in his first Olympics.
He triumphed in the men's 10m air pistol at the age of 41. "As a shooter, I worked a lot in the last two years. I am happy to achieve success," Foroughi said.
He set a new Olympic record of 244.8 points en route to gold.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, he has attended to many patients that contracted the killer virus.
